The Vaquita

Did you know that the Vaquita is the most endangered marine mammal on Earth? (The WWF site) The Vaquita is about 5 feet long and lives mostly in the Gulf of Mexico. (WWF site) According to SeaTempratu.re, “The temperature in the water right now is at least 58 degrees Fahrenheit and at most, 81.”According to ocean explorer, “As Pangea broke apart, a section of the fracture between the future North American and South American continental plates expanded, and the resulting stretching as well as thinning of the Earth’s crust created a large depression that would become the Gulf of Mexico basin.” My favorite fact about the Vaquita is that they are in the dolphin family!
