The Northern Great Plains

A picture of a 70 degree day in the Northern Great Plains

The Northern Great plains are becoming endangered due to modern changes and not usually natural changes.”Today, demand for agricultural commodities and new, drought resistant bioengineered crops encourage the degradation of native grasslands, increasing incentives to till the land while draining waterways and watersheds. This plow-up of native grasslands will continue to reshape the landscape and push out wildlife if conservation is not considered” according to WWF. Due to global warming, the temperatures have gotten higher, and the number of days it is above 100 degrees is projected to double by the year 2050. We need to conserve the Northern Great Plains for a better future and the generations to come.
