What is TEDx?
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxCarnageMagnetMS, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxCarnageMagnetMS event, TED Talks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

TEDxYouth is a category of TEDx events that showcase the display of new ideas among our world's youth. Adapting to this mission, TEDxCarnageMagnetMS is intent on promoting the unique and amazing views of students from all Wake County Middle Schools alike. To promote the youth aspect, our event is solely organized by a team of 17 students from Carnage Magnet Middle School and we plan to present a handful of student speakers in addition to our keynotes. Founded in 1965, CMMS has been an influential part of the Wake County Public School System.
