I think I have grown a lot as an artist throughout this semester. In the beginning of this semester, I didn't know much about sculpture and it was my weakest area in art. I think the work in my portfolio does accurately depict my growth throughout the semester. The first piece is the pinch pot rattle, which was the first piece I made in this class. This piece is very lumpy and I did not smooth out the outside properly. It also cracked in the kiln which showed that I made the piece too thick. The second piece is the pitfire pottery, which I think shows my improvement a lot. This piece was a coil piece that is a lot smoother, and there were no cracks this time.
Question 3:
I felt like I was the least successful with this project. I think I was the least successful in this project because I didn't really smooth out the piece properly. If I could redo this piece I would go over the piece with more glaze. I would also make sure the edges of the piece are straight.
Question 6:
My favorite medium to work with this semester was cardboard. I think I enjoyed this medium because it involved acrylic paint, which is something that I am used to working with.
Question Seven:
I would do over the sprig mold project because I wish I had chosen different colors . I also wish I had added a few more layers of glaze on the flowers . I did really like the lid, but I wish I had added something else onto it, like some type of design.
