About Me

My name is Mr. George Preiss and I teach 7th grade English Language Arts at Holly Ridge Middle School. I taught in Wilmington, NC at Noble Middle for 23 years. I've been at Holly Ridge since 2015. My wife works at UNC-Wilmington, and our two children graduated from Holly Springs High. They just graduated NC State and UNC Wilmington. We also have a dog named Letty who loves playing tug-of-war, chasing rabbits, and dragging me around the block.

I attended UNC Wilmington and have a BA degree in English Literature, as well as licensure in Middle Grades Education.

When not teaching or hanging out with my family I enjoy bicycling, hiking, Bluegrass music and beekeeping.
