Incorporating annotations into your video is as simple as refering to the tool bar on the left hand side in Camtasia. From there, you can select the annotations button to find a collection of various annotations. These options can include callouts, shapes, lines, and arrows. There is also a section for blurring, highlighing, or pixelating part of your media. If you want to create your own, use the plus sign at the bottom of the media category to import your own graphics from your computer or Google drive.
Refer to the tutorial below to learn how you can add annotations to your videos.
Step 1: Refer to the toolbar on the left-hand side of the screen and select the Annotations button. Various callouts, shapes, lines, and other effects will be displayed here.
Step 2: Drag it to the timeline once you have chosen your annotation. Wherever you place it on the timeline, the annotation will appear in the video. You can choose to edit the size, color, and text in the properties section located on the right-hand side.
Alternatively, you can drag the annotation directly onto the canvas. It will also appear on your timeline where your play head is in the tracks.
Control or command Z is your friend!
Use command or control Z to erase the edits if you ever cut out pieces or make any changes you want to undo.
Now that you have watched the tutorial on incorporating annotations, try practicing on a sample video. Select the popout symbol found in the upper right-hand corner of the video below. Once a new page is open, download the sample video and practice adding annotations or your own media. When you are done editing, export your video as a local file and submit the MP4 to this Dropbox.
