Intermediate Video Project
I had two ideas for this assignment when we were given it, ‘A Day In A Life Of A Puppy’ or ‘Expectation Vs. Reality With A Puppy’. I ended up doing the second one, Expectations Vs. Reality. Additional work that I added that wasn’t from the original proposal was adding her growing stages at the end. The content of my video is exactly how it sounds, expectations of what you would think a puppy would do vs. the reality of what a puppy actually does. My video doesn’t really have a story or meaning, Just a fun video of my puppy doing good things and being bad.
New skills I have learned while creating this video are patience especially, the rendering takes forever and it's a lot of work to just get everything how you desire. I also learned more skills on premiere like creating a blank page thing, they call it a ‘color matte’. I think my strengths of my video would be that I understand how to use premiere for the most part and can pull together a video that looks pretty good in a short amount of time. I think my weakness of my video would be slacking a little with video footage, the video could be longer with more clips for Expectations vs. Reality. I think the music to the video is really successful, how I had the expectation using calmer music and more chaotic music for the reality part of the video. I unfortunately ran into plenty of challenges during this project which may have been the computers fault but it caused a stepback. The PC I was working on liked to crash on me at least twice a week, sometimes making me have to redo what I had done because it didn’t save or just wouldn’t turn back on. Some challenges I had encountered with premiere and my video was getting Mazee to do what I needed her to do to get the video clips or just getting the videos imported correctly was difficult.
Double Exposure Assignment
To achieve this image I used a tripod and took the same picture plenty of times with changing the shutter speeds. I knew when this assignment was assigned that I wanted to photograph the purple fields. I happen to come across some yellow dandelions next to the pureness of the fields and thought it was very pretty.
Down below are the 3 photos I merged together using Photoshop to get the outcome I did.
For this photo I did the same thing as the HDR photos. I used a tripod and slowly, after 1 picture was taken, moved the camera and tripod to the right snapping shots after every move to create the sense of taking a Pano on your iphone. Purple is quickly becoming my favorite color, the fields everywhere are vibrant purple and I wanted to photograph them.
Down below are the 5 photos that created this panorama.
Animation project
Play-Doh Man Stop Motion
When Abbie and I started this assignment, we had a completely different idea, but it didn't work out AT ALL. We quickly decided we needed another plan and started brainstorming. We came up with building a man out of Play-Doh. After watching what we had started we decided it needed a climax and an ending. The ideas we came up with were to either roll the man out with a rolling pin or squash him, we settled on squashing him with a shoe.
This took us many weeks of setting up the camera and figuring out the lighting. Keeping the placement the same and getting the focus on the camera to be correct was definity the most challenging part of this assignment. Overall, we are happy with how it turned out and think it is funny. We had lots of fun while creating this stop motion animation.
Bracketing: the process of taking a picture multiple times with different camera settings like changing the ISO, aperture, or shutter speed leaving you with varied exposures.
Aperture: an opening that limits the amount of light that gets into the camera
ISO: the sensitivity the camera has to light, making the photo over exposed or under exposed
Movement: 1. Freezing time; a sense of capturing action. 2. The path the viewer's eyes take while reading a picture.
Rhythm: Typically one element that catches the eyes movement across the whole photo.
Symmetric Balance: Both sides of the image are symmetrical (identical).
Radial Balance: Elements that are equally distributed around one focal point.

Unity: Unity means various points that are visually in sync and working together to create harmony for a theme.
Variety: Multiple objects that are similar and connect together but not the repeating objects.
Contrast: Placing two or more opposite elements together.
Emphasis: Emphasis is defined as creating a centered interest, giving one object more importance than others.

Color: Color is the pigment detected by the eye in a photo, art piece, or object (unless you’re colorblind) and shown to us in bright, vibrant, dull or pastel colors.
Space (negative shapes): Space is all about depth, showing how far or close something is. Negative space in photography usually has a focal point of an object following the rule of thirds rule and a simple background.
Pattern: Pattern is defined as repetition of something. As long as you have something repeating anything can be a pattern.

Line: Lines itself can define emotion or create space like defining certain places in a photo or in an art piece. Lines can also add width or height to something as well as texture. They can show where an object starts or ends too.
Shape/form: Lines formed and closed together are how shapes are created. Shapes are 2D and flat with limited width and height. Some may also define it as a change in value of a line. Form is a defined shape that has depth also is 3D. It can be viewed from multiple angles.
Texture: Texture is easily just described as how something feels or the illusion of something looking how it feels.

For this assignment we had to find a photographer that does photography of the topic you chose. Considering Halloween is coming up, I decided to do the pumpkin head and sheet ghosts trend I have seen everywhere. The photographer I choose to take inspiration from is Steelan Tay on Pinterest. This assignment was to bring light into an image but have the shadow draw dimension and add dominance to a certain part of the photo.
This technique is often used to direct or bring attention to a focal point of the photo. It uses elements in the photo to create the frame.
This week's goal was to get as close as you could to fill all of the negative space.
This week's assignment was to experiment with different camera angles like highs and lows.

Rule of thirds is a technique used in photography to naturally balance objects in the frame.
