My artist was an oil painter and he used strong brushmarks with neutral colors along with bright. He painted abstractly and had detail through his work. His work focused on color and brush strokes to demonstrate their inner qualities and his relationship with them. His methods were impasto, meaning bold experiments with paint, it also helps concentrate the vibrant colors, emotion through the painting and his movement. His work that he did revealed his mood for that painting. I learned that taking time and patience to get the right color and proportion. I took into consideration that he loves vibrant colors and hard brush strokes so it was easier to persay. My portrait is similar to his because I have vibrant colors and I got all the right proportions while staying through his method. I feel like I did my hair, and shading very well because I am a very perfectionist when it comes to painting and I took my time along with asking questions a lot. I would like to improve my facial features including skin color, darks, and lights. I believe that my hair shading and colors were less successful due to the time frame and I struggle with making it look really abstract. I set high standards for my painting just because I push myself to get better out comes and just to tell myself that I can do it without fear of not succeeding. I met the criteria for my portrait really well, my artist does very bright backgrounds and heavy brush strokes, he does the normal skin tone color and makes it abstract, I followed his method and roll really well. I made multiple changes to my skin tone just because the picture that I used was filtered and I chose to do the filter on the picture, I also changed my blonde streaks in my hair to make it look more like the picture that I was demonstrating. I received very good feedback and very positive through my teacher and classmates that I showed. I used that feedback really well I would take into consideration of what they thought I should do differently but they all loved it and said that it looked exactly like me/my picture. I used my accountability period to further my painting to make sure I got finished on time along with making sure I was making the painting the same.
