I took two photos and overlapped them here.
I proposed doing a series of makeup videos. I was able to accomplish 4 videos. I did a voiceover for 2 videos but ran short on time to do voiceovers for the other two videos. I made sure to include captions along with all of the steps I was doing.
I showed myself doing my makeup. I really enjoy doing makeup and I enjoyed being able to do something I have passion for. I like that I was able to show how to do makeup for people who may not know how to do these things.
I learned how to incorporate a voiceover into a video. I was able to learn to stack videos so I didn't have to completely redo my makeup every video. I also had to have a set routine for my makeup and have a good setup with good lighting.
I think the lighting I had at school was a lot better than what I had at home. I was also able to control more camera angles at school. I think the editing is also really good. I was able to put in captions in the parts where you may have not been able to understand what I was saying. I need to be able to speak a little more loudly and clearly. Overall there were some things I should have done better, like my planning, and making time for this project, but for the results I don’t think it is a bad video.
I struggled with time. I never put in enough effort to make time for the project. I did have softball a lot, but I could have done more at school. Next time I have a project like this I will make sure to make time to provide the most I can. I was able to cover the basics along with 2 fun looks, but I did want to do more fun looks. I may try to do a project like this next year in media to see if I can improve from this video.
I tried to make an entertaining fighting animation. I was able to learn a lot of stuff about Premiere, along with how hard it can be to do a stop motion video. I added a few things to try and extend my project. I used a few people in my media class to make sound effects I could add in for the characters. I researched everything I could about the characters’ families, and how they fight.
The animation is about two characters fighting. They are throwing weapons and using their abilities to defeat one another. I wanted to show through my animation that someone might look small and weak, but they can overcome someone that is bigger and seems stronger than them.
I had to learn quite a few skills making this project, I had to learn to make my props, some different things on premiere, and help my friends make sound effects. I also had to learn a little bit more about the camera controls, like putting it in manual mode when I couldn’t get it to automatically focus.
I feel my project has a lot of strengths, but also a lot of weaknesses. There are a few shots where my hand was in it. There were a couple of shots where the characters were not in focus. I tried to make really smooth movements throughout the project, but I would sometimes get a little impatient and move the character farther than I should have. I think the sound effects I created with a crew, and the ones I got from Google Drive both added a lot of fun and realism to the project. I also used some sounds from the actual video game Mortal Kombat. I was able to find a lot of backstory on the characters to add in so viewers at least had an idea on who they were. I really liked when I had the hand cut off as well with any big jumps the characters made. I think the motion blur really adds to the realism of this project. The little set I made out of cardboard and clay had some faults, but for the most part I didn't think it was too bad for my first time.
I think my main struggle was just trying to keep the characters standing. They would fall over a lot, and trying to put them in the exact same place was not always easy. I had to learn where on the board they could balance, or for Kitana, where I could dig her heels in the ground. I think I will definitely take more time on a project like this in the future. I felt as though I rushed through it a little, because I naturally want things done pretty fast. I will definitely take more time on a project like this in the future.

I chose to study Chris Hernanadez. I didn't copy exactly how he did his portraits, but he was an inspiration.
Light and shadows are making shadows or bursts of light on purpose. This gives a very dramatic affect on the picture.
Framing the subject is putting the subject between something to give them a frame. It looks clean and draws attention to the subject.
Filling the frame is having your subject take up the majority of the frame.
Camera angles are to show a certain power. If you take a picture from a low angle you are showing dominance. If you take a picture from a low angle it shows more innocence, and makes you seem small.
The Rule of Thirds is when you place the subject a third away from the right or left. You can also place them a third away form the top or bottom.
