Expressive Line Drawings
My first artwork is tired, confused, and maybe even old because some spots get thin or have no line. It's more of a calm artwork than a jittery one. Some spots taper thin to thick. I saw old play in this artwork by the weaker lines because once you get older your bones become weaker and some people have dementia when they are older too so I put confused as a line. So to empathize with those words in my artwork I make some lines break and others thinner then back to thicker. The mood of this one has more of a calm, nice, and peaceful feeling as the lines are rounded off more and are just smoother and straighter. The quality of the first artwork is better than my second because it's softer and easier to understand.
For my second artwork, the words I chose to come to life are energetic and bold. I made these two words come to life by making the lines jagged, I made them jagged because when you have caffeine you get energetic and you might not have a very steady hand. Then to make everything pop and stand out I made the lines bold. I can relate the boldness to if you use eyeliner on your eyelashes it makes them darker and stand out more. The second artwork is more rough and jagged maybe a little harder to understand. It's a bit more just out there and everywhere. The mood is kinda energetic and the lines are thicker so they are more bold. Almost like a very up-front bold person. The quality it brings is a variety of lines.
Relief Print
The project was a relief print, so you have a block that you carve into pictures. You take your lightest color and carve the lightest color out to print your darker ones. Because of the color design, I showed more of a bumpy texture. I chose this texture to show life can be bumpy. The printing process was a little hard, but you printed the whole block, carved out your lightest color, then printed the next color, and did that for every color. It’s a reduction print because the artwork has multiple layers. It's also a relief print because we had to carve away from a block to get the artwork. Registration means symbols added to the prints or to have proper alignment with colors. My learning process was to work with the time you have. The most challenging part was trying to get all the colors lined up as they were. I believe I succeeded with the colors and the carving, as I said I struggled with lining the pieces up.
Realistic and Abstract Landscape
This project we had to choose a place on google earth with a 3d view of the place. I chose the Eiffel tower for my 3d model. First I started off by shaping the tower its self then I gradually made my way onto the other things. We also made an abstract one for that i kinda mix around the colors.
I had the colors accurate for the realistic drawing, but I made it mixed up for the abstract. I put all of the beams I could fit onto the Eiffel Tower and tried getting the color perfect on it. For the placement I made the roads really well and accurately which made everything else fall into place. I made the tower giant because it was up close and made the buidlings smaller because they were farther in the distance. I had the Eiffel Tower overlapping with many of the things on my artwork.
I really improved on my tower because I redrew it multipe times until I got it right. My Photoshop definitely wasn’t as good. It was a lot harder to get those curved shaped to bend the way the needed. Also trying to fit everything was hard.

Reflection
My family is big in numbers. So we have plenty of different personalities and traits since I have so many people in my family it is hard to choose one type of personality for all of us. Something that we all share in common would be something better for me to do. What I found out was that we all like sports.
This sculpture expresses my family because it is a combination of us. Every different color on my sculpture is a different personality. The bottom color/shape is my grandma I chose that shape because it represents a cigarette. I chose that because she was able to stop smoking after she had smoked all her life. The middle magenta color is my brother, the reason he got the biggest bulkiest shape is because he is on the shorter side but he has a lot of strength and size. I am the orange color, I gave myself that shape because I can be very confusing. Then the green is my dog, Daisy she got that shape because she has a lot of ups and downs mood-wise.
My sculpture started as paper and bristle board. We started it off with these materials so it would have a good foundation to go off of. Then we made this paste for paper mache. We used that paste and newspaper to mache the outside of the sculpture. Then we used paint to top it off and make it look better. I decided to paint each shape a different color as the shapes were used to describe a different person.
My classmates' art theme is a lot bigger than mine. He has some negative space in his sculpture, while mine has no holes making mine have no negative spaces other than the area around it. His is more like a human shape or almost like an alien. While my sculpture is more abstract, my sculpture doesn’t necessarily look like anything living but it does represent living things.
Self Portrait Bust
My original idea for this project was to put a ball in the back of my head. It would've shown tragedy mixed with love, since golf is a sport I love to play, especially when I play it competitively. I had to change my idea, though, since I couldn't exactly mold a spot for the ball, so then I was going to make my eyes golf balls. But that also didn’t work out, so I put the golf ball on my head instead.
My first step was to make a base or a structure to support the whole sculpture. So I used this foam-type material to make a beam that would support the head of my sculpture. After that, I used cardboard to sculpt the outside of my head and jaw. Then I wrapped it in tinfoil so the sculptamold would stick to the outside structure. I then added three layers of scultamold before I started painting. After painting, it was then ready to be pictured.
I have learned how to mold on my own. I learned that the hard part to trying to smooth out that molding material so it's not bumpy. The easy part was painting because I just had to look at a picture of myself to match up the colors.
Organic Abstract Carving
My inspiration for my project was a rose with thorns. I was planning to do this because my original idea was that even something beautiful can hurt. Changes I made were making my base a rock and having vines covering the rock, also having the rose sprout through the rock, and getting rid of the thorns. So the message I've made is that beautiful things will still happen even through a hard time.
My first step was to carve out a rectangle. My second step was then to mark the top for how I wanted the rose to look. Then I proceed to carve out my base. After that, I went back to carving out my rose and then ended up carving my stem. After that, you paint and then photograph.
I’ve learned that not everything is as easy as it sounds. It was really hard not to break the plaster of Paris. The skill that will help me in the future that I learned on this project is to be careful.
