Here is where you will find artworks that I have made throughout my Freshman year.
Expressive Lines
This artwork is of a clock that is meant to be expressing fast and swift lines. I mainly drew this because it was the first thing I looked at but after I analyzed it I realized that clocks have a deep meaning. A clock represents the passing of time and how fast and slow time passes. We will never have more time and we cant get time back that we have lost. this artwork is representing fast lines and how fast time passes.
Realistic and Abstract Landscape
We made the project using two realistic and abstract landscape drawings. We were allowed to use a place on Google Earth or use a photo of a place. I used a picture of the Burj Khalifa. I made some colors have less opacity so you can see through them. I made the closer things more detailed. I placed the things closer to the bottom of the page.I made the building symmetrical and all going to the center point. The closer things were larger. I overlapped the things closer. Closer objects were more of a darker color and had more color to them.I added more layers to the watercolor painting and more detail to the Photoshop design.
Relief Print
The project was a textured print. We were meant to take a little rectangle block and carve a picture of our choice onto it. You had the option to do three or four colors, and I chose black, white, and gray. I chose actual texture with my picture of the Great Pyramid Of Giza. The process was fairly complicated. You first had to do a test print of the whole block with your lightest color of ink. After the test print, you had to take five prints onto special paper. After that ink dried, you carve the block with the next lightest color and do the prints. After doing that one more time for the darkest color, you should be done with the prints. My learning process was hard because I had to fix some mistakes I had made at the start so my prints didn't look bad. There were even some mistakes I made that I had to put into the final print. It was very hard but it was also very fun and I would recommend this project to people who like art and want a challenge.
Abstract Family Sculpture
While I feel that I could have done better in general with the appearance of my sculpture, I know I did slack toward the end because I did not know how much time I had. Despite this, though, I do feel that I accomplished what I set out to do in creating a sculpture that truly portrays my family. I am satisfied overall with the work and how long I spent expressing the personality of my family in my sculpture.
My artwork represents me as the youngest child, demonstrating not just my youthfulness but also my resilience. Aiden's artwork, on the other hand, reflects his interest in mechanics and driving trucks and depicts his practical skills and adventurous nature. At the same time, Adam's artwork comically describes him as a blob, reflecting a relaxed nature and a lazy tendency. Combined, our artworks reflect the distinctive traits and interests that make each of us individuals.
Expressive Portrait Bust
I first made the shoulder out of Bristol board and leftover cardboard. Then, I made a little tower to support the weight of the head. I wrapped the top with newspaper and taped it. I created a sort of head shape with the newspaper and then wrapped it around with tin foil. After that, I put the sculpta mold onto it and smoothed it around. I put about three layers and then made the facial features. I then painted it and took pictures of it afterward.
Organic Abstraction
My original idea was to make a tree hollowed with flowers inside it. I then realised that making the flowers look good would be very difficult and decided to just do a lion's face instead. I then had the idea to make the tree look like a carving of a tree and not a real tree. I did this by making the bottom half of the tree look like stone.
