I researched Rob Rey at the beginning of this project. His style of painting on the "Cosmic Perspective," a theme designed to blend scientific understanding with emotional, philosophical, and artistic expression, uses a wet-to-wet method with oil and acrylic paint. I learned from my artist to create my self portrait. How my self portrait is similar to my artist style is space them and methods are wet to wet. Cosmic Perspective is using the insights of modern science to see the big picture of the world and our place in it with a sense of belonging and connection. What i did really well is shading. I would like to improve more color proportions. Less successful places are the bird. The criteria is to do good and get it done in time. Changes I did is color change and texture. I received motivateve feedback. I did not do anything outside of class time but in class I did my best and what i could
I chose this subject because it was cool and pretty, and it felt like it was calling to me after I looked over it multiple times. The farthest mountain is the background, the second lightest is represented as the middle ground, and the closest and darkest mountain is the foreground. The techniques and processes I used were that I added water to some of my paint to get a transparent layer of paint. I tried to make softer edges and use blending in the sky and on the last mountain, where the mountain meets the sky. I learned to get lighter and darker colors in a painting.
