About Mrs. Sanford (Formally Ms. Ritchie)

8th Grade Math and Science Teacher

This will be sixth year at St. Sebastian Parish School.   At St. Sebastian School I serve as the science fair coordinator, math counts and genius project moderator,  as well as a 7th-8th grade teacher leader.

I graduated from Kent State University with my Bachelors in Middle Childhood Education math and science in 2009.  I have been teaching in a Catholic school for the past ten years.

In addition to working at St. Sebastian, I am also a math tutor at Stark State College.  Teaching is my life and my greatest passion.  In my free time, I enjoy puzzles, movies and spending time with my pets.  I have a dog, Dexter and cat, Harper.

 About Miss Weakland

7/8 English Teacher and 7th Grade Religion Teacher

This is my 17th year at St. Sebastian, upon receiving my masters in education with licensure in grades 7-12 in Language Arts with a reading endorsement.  I also received a BA from Harvard University in English and American Literature and Language.  As a teacher I hope to share my love of literature with my students, but the most important aspect of my time at St. Sebastian is the opportunity to share the Catholic faith with my students.

As a life long resident of Akron, I currently live on North Hill with my dog Mischief, who lives up to his name while helping me keep my sense of humor.  I love to read and to travel.

  About Mr. Rose

7/8 Social Studies Teacher and 8th Grade Religion Teacher

This is my 15th year of teaching at St. Sebastian.  I received my masters degree in education with licensure in grades 7-12 in Social Studies at the University of Akron.   Along with Social Studies, I teach the 8th grade Religion, and the sacrament of Confirmation.  St. Sebastian fosters a wonderful environment both academically and spiritually.  It is a joy to see the students growth in Junior High, as we prepare them for high school and beyond.  Attending school mass on Thursdays with our students is a great way to celebrate our faith.

Some of the school activities I moderate: Student Council, Geography Bee, Chess Club, and Drone Club

I enjoy cooking on the grill, watching historical documentaries, and visiting famous landmarks.
