Pros:
Hole in the middle allows grasping mechanism to latch on to provide a more secure connection
More control during movement
Flat surface means the object will not move or shift when it’s placed down

Requirement of precision and calibration for claw to properly lift

Doesn't have to interface as much with the grasping mechanism
Flat bottom surface enables it to not move or roll off surface
Cons:
Round nature of cylinder requires more precision to properly lift
Harder to control when moving

Could be easily scooped underneath by grasping mechanism
Would not have to interface as much with the grasping mechanism
Cons:
The sphere could potentially roll when it is replaced on the surface

The Cylinder design was chosen as our final design. The above picture shows the payload design contained in the bounding box

The mass of the Payload once printed will be 21g or 0.05lbs as shown in the Mass Properties above
We chose this design for many reasons, some of these include; the payload having less risk of sliding when being placed onto a surface, and to provide optimal grip with the grasping mechanism.
