Provide Clearance for Material
Flip yellow splash cover upward, away from nozzle tip.
Hold the nozzle assembly in right hand, and loosen knob with left.
Lift nozzle assembly to max height.
tighten knob in left hand.
Load Material
Load Material
From the right of the machine, slide material into position, ensuring the lower left corner aligns with the L bracket.
Clamp material in 2-3 locations with friction lock clamps.
If using thin material, for stability do not clamp on the leftmost or rightmost edges.
Friction clamps only need to be pressed snug, not all the way to the post base. Note the gap in our picture below. Over tightening will dramatically reduce the life of the clamp.
Set Z-Offset
Set Z-Offset
Take Z-Offset tool from left side of Protomax.
Place Z-Offset tool on top of material, underneath the nozzle.
Gently lower the nozzle onto the Z-Offset tool, then tighten wheel.
Return Z-Offset tool to holder.
Final Checks
Final Checks
Add water to tank until ~0.5" of nozzle tip is covered.
Flip yellow splash cover back down.
Check and fill garnet hopper if below fill warning line.
The black rectangular bin to the right of the waterjet contains cutting garnet
Filter using the plastic pitcher, and place garnet into garnet hopper.
