JJ Van Wie (they/he) is a Senior at Rowan University studying Communication Studies, New Media, and Women and Gender Studies. They have conducted various research regarding New Media and Gender, one of their most notable works being "Artificial Intelligence and Body Image Perception: The influence of gender and cultural images in TikTok generative AI filters on users." They have also completed various creative projects during their time at Rowan, focusing on garnering their abilities in Graphic Design, Video Editing, Writing, and Journalistic Interviewing. Their most recent project "Glassboro's Underground Alternative Music Scene: The sounds and souls that make up this flourishing community," a multimedia journalistic piece, highlights their many skills along with their love for music.
JJ works closely with Rowan Cinema Workshop and the Rowan Television Network, completing various film projects, television shoots, and livestream events. He has even served as Cinema Workshop’s Secretary and Promotions Manager over his time in college. JJ has many passions regarding photography, video production, and scholarly research and he hopes to take all that he has learned in college and apply it to every job opportunity that comes his way.
In his spare time, JJ enjoys live music, movies, and spending time with his friends.
