About Me

Laura Renfroe

I've always had a passion for writing ever since I was very young, writing stories with topics from syrupy high school drama to talking animals. Never did I realize writing would become my life and my enjoyment even into my high school years.

I enrolled in the Foundations of Journalism class at Pelahatchie High School simply out of curiosity my freshman year. Joining journalism has opened ideas about careers that I never dreamed of before. It has expanded my imagination and enabled me to reach out to the real world in search of impactful stories. I found my love for journalism by writing about not only local stories but most importantly writing about what is passionate to me.

My love for the arts and entertainment has allowed me to grow both as a writer and a creator. Journalism has given me something to be proud of. Publishing my own work online and being recognized because of it has made me more confident and motivated as a writer and student as well as improve my social skills.

My passion for writing, drawing, photography, and design has broadened my future and brought me immense joy and pride. I am thankful for everyone in my life who encouraged me to continue on the imagination-driven path and pursue my dreams.
