Not all points are purposed for salary movement.
Points earned during your contract day are purposed for relicensure only and NOT for salary movement.
If you receive a stipend for any activity outside of your contract time, points you may earn are NOT purposed for salary movement.
If the district provides any support for you to attend an activity (registration, travel, substitute, professional leave, etc) points you may earn will NOT be purposed for salary movement.
You may only earn a maximum of 120 points that are purposed for salary movement in a professional learning year (August 1- July 31). Points above the 120 point maximum will NOT be purposed for salary movement.
Only those who require CEUs for licensure may earn CEUs for salary movement. If you are licensed through KSDE you may not earn CEUs for relicensure or salary movement.
You must have an Action Plan in place to earn CEUs for salary movement. Click here to learn more about submitting an Action Plan.

With a bachelor's degree, there are two column movements possible: BS+12 and BS+24
At least HALF (6) of the 12 college credits for column movement must come from actual college credits. The remaining HALF (6) may come from any combination of college credits and/or professional development points
20 professional development points = 1 college credit
Please note from the Negotiated Agreement:
Credits completed prior to the education and/or job-related MS degree being obtained will not be counted for salary schedule movement to MS+ columns.
With a masters degree, there are several column advancements available: MS+12, MS+24, MS+36, MS+48, MS+60
You may use any combination of college credits and/or professional development points meeting the 12 credit requirement to request movement on the salary schedule.
20 professional development points = 1 college credit
With the limit of only being able to earn 120 points purposed for salary movement in a professional learning year, it will take at least 2 years to earn enough points to request movement using only professional development points.
Movement on the salary schedule must be requested.
