Below, you will find the REQUIRED professional learning opportunities created by our Learning Services team and district to help you learn more about your content area curriculum and technology.
Please make note of the required sessions and their due dates.
You will receive professional development points for completion of modules on this site. These points will be purposed for both relicensure and movement on the salary schedule. When you complete these modules (entering your full first and last name or logging in when required), points will be added to your professional development portfolio and transcript. The Science of Reading/Dyslexia- REQUIRED for the noted groups
As part of licensure requirements in Kansas, educators who hold the following licensure must engage in Professional Learning focused specifically on The Science of Reading/Dyslexia:
Elementary Education (PK-Grade 6)
Early Childhood Unified
High Incidence Special Education and teaching in Grades K-12
ELA grades 5-12
Reading Specialists
School Psychologists
If you hold licensure in one of these categories, we will be enrolling you in our Science of Reading Modules in SkyPrep, which is the same platform you will use to complete all of your mandatory trainings at the beginning of the year. You can access SkyPrep at this link: https://olathe-public-schools.skyprepapp.com The training modules will take approximately 6 hours to complete and can be completed in small increments of time. Please note… this is a different licensure requirement than the Seal of Literacy.
You will have until Monday, November 2, 2026 to complete the modules. For completing the modules, you will receive 6 professional development points which will be purposed for both relicensure and salary movement.
If you taught in a district prior to teaching in Olathe and believe you have completed this training in that other district, please contact Jenna Kuder at jkuderirc@olatheschools.org
