If you would like to work towards one specific collector card below, then you must choose a book that matches the genre on the card. For example, if the card says "Animal Stories Side Quest", then you must checkout a chapter book from the fiction genre Animal Stories to earn the card.
OR
You may choose a chapter book from any genre in the library.Â
READ THE BOOK! Take the time to enjoy your chosen story from front to back. Read carefully and be ready to share what you read with Ms. Francis!
Choose a side quest from the list below. Retrieve the materials needed from the folder with the matching number. For instance, if you choose #7 "Create a comic strip to summarize the book", then you will need the printout from folder #7 in the library. Complete the side quest during your free time outside of school.
Bring your final project to your next library class to turn into Ms. Francis. This project should show that you have an in depth knowledge of the book, as well as show a proper amount of effort.Â
Earn your one chosen card OR choose your card pack to reveal the 3 mystery cards inside! Keep your cards or trade with friends!
Legendary and Rare Artifact cards can only be found in mystery card packs.
You may only turn in one side quest per week.
If the work is rushed or incomplete, or it becomes obvious that the book was not read in its entirety, Ms. Francis will ask you to go back and try again. The work will have to be turned in the following week during your library specials.Â
Once you complete a side quest, you cannot repeat it until all the others have been completed.Â
1. Write a letter to the main character. Example
2. Write a different ending for the book.

4. Pretend you are a talk show host and interview the main character.
5. Create a travel brochure for the setting of the story. Example
6. Create a book jacket, including illustrations, an enticing synopsis, and favorable reviews.
7. Create a comic strip to summarize the book.
8. Create a book report Flap Book. Example
9. Create a themed bookmark. Example
10. Create a commercial about your book that can be played on the morning newscast. Example
11. Write a letter to the author of your book (Example). Address it to the publisher (Example) and after showing Ms. Francis, we’ll mail it.Â
12. Describe in detail three characters from the story. List reasons why you would or wouldn't want to get to know these people.
13. Design a poster advertising your book.Example
14. Write an acrostic poem about the book using the letters in the title of the book or the name of a character or author. Example
15. Present a Book Talk in front of your class.

17. Design the Mirror of Erised for your main character’s goal/motive. Example
