My name is Mia an I'm a junior at Oregon High School. I have been playing softball since I was able to. I have experienced getting pushed up in level through the rec ball. My youngest sister that plays is getting taught drills and situations that was taught to us at that age. Today the softball organization is growing more and more popular as the years has been passing. A 2019 NCAA SoftballAmerica survey, softball is growing faster than many other sports. NCAA SoftballAmerica stated,“The growth of women’s softball isn’t just seen in revenue data...In 2015, it was reported the Women's College World Series....averaged 1.85 million viewers. Meanwhile the Men's College World Series only averaged 1.4 million viewers.” Citing another study, a 2019 Rip-it, “for young athletes who play and are interested in softball, this increases the sports popularity and profitability is positive for the game’s collegiate and professional expansion.”Additionally Rip-it claims, “In 2016, slow-pitch softball around the country saw an 8.1 percent increase in participation while youth baseball rose by just 7.7 percent.” I quickly realized that I needed to do something to help the future generation of softball, so I created Ortega's Clinic. Where it's a safe and friendly environment where young athletes can improve their skills.
