Build A Band

For this project my group and I were given the task to build one string, one wind, and one, chime instrument that each would play 8 notes. I worked with Harley, Maggie, and Kai. We started off the project with learning about sound waves and how sounds are transmitted and then moved into drawing our blueprints and then actually making each of our instruments. After our instruments were made we started the tuning process to make the notes sound just right. I made a ukulele as a string instrument. Below is our instrument document that we presented explaining each instrument and how they work to generate sound.

I think I did well on my conscientious learning this project. I managed my time well and used the time I had to fully build my ukulele. I have never dealt with tuning instruments before and embraced the challenge of learning and changing my strings as I was tuning. I also did well on collaboration. I worked well with my group  and helped my other group members when needed. I maintained a positive attitude as well. One thing I want to work on for future projects is my critical thinking. During this many times I thought there could only be one right way but I want to be able to see the multiple different ways of solving problems in the future. I also want to work on my culturally competent skills because during this project sometimes I wouldn't be able to see other peoples point of views just because they were different than mine. In future projects I want to be able to see multiple perspectives.
