Evidence of Work

For this project, Quinn, Bradly, Robbie, and I were assigned to choose a sport and explain the physics behind that sport. First, we had to find the variables. We recorded a video of serving a pickleball from a few different angles. From there we were able to calculate the speed, Dv and Dh. After that, we made a video analyzing the clip of the serve and described the physics behind it, as well as providing some background information about pickleball.

Content

Force of Impact-

The changing kinetic energy of an object in motion being stopped by an object. EX: The pickleball paddle collided with the ball.

Horizontal Velocity - The velocity of an object in motion horizontally. EX: The ball Had a horizontal velocity of 10 M/S.

Vertical Velocity - The velocity of an object traveling vertically. EX: The ball had a vertical velocity of 3 M/S.

Total Velocity - The horizontal and vertical velocity of an object together. EX: The ball had a velocity of 15 M/S.

Conservation of Momentum - When two objects collide their momentum will stay consistent with each other.

Reflection

For my project, I believe I did well with collaboration. Even though I was sick for the majority of the project when I got back I did everything that I could to help my team. Building off of collaboration I also believe my communication was a strong point as when I was working with my group I communicated with them about how I should do my part for the project. Something I want to work on for the next project is leadership. Organizing and planning for my group was not my strong suit during this project especially due to my absence. Another thing to keep working on is character as some aspects I did not entirely try my hardest in.
