Alternate Energy Vehicle

The total process of this project took around 3 weeks. Our task was to create a vehicle that would go five meters using alternate energy, We put two rolls of pennies on top of the car to act as passengers. We created a pull-back car where you wind up the rear wheels which were CD's, that were attached to a rubber band that was also attached to the frame of the car. This ended up working well resulting in the car going 5 meters.

Spring Potential Energy

Spring Potential Energy was the amount of potential energy a rubber band has due to its stretch

Gravitational Potential Energy

Gravitational Potential Energy an object has due to its height or position in a gravitational field

Kinetic Energy

Kinetic Energy is all of the energy due to motion

Total Energy

The Total Energy was all the involved energy related to the car.

Thermal Energy

Thermal Energy is all the energy due to heat.

Distance vs. Time

Distance vs. Time was the amount of time it took our car to go five meters.

Velocity vs. Time

Velocity vs. Time was the speed and direction of the car and the amount of time it took to go five meters.

Rotational Inertia

Rotational Inertia was when you have more mass closer to the center and less weight on the outside of the car.

Reflection

Over the time of this project I learned that it was not that hard to create an independent moving car, and if you think about it the right way it will work. At first I thought it would be really hard but with the help of my team we created a lightweight and very efficient car. One thing I would like to work on is my communication, I think I communicated wth my group members fairly well throughout the project but there is always room for improvement. I would like to work on my communication for the next upcoming project so I can be as helpful and productive as possible.
