Rube Goldberg Machine
Rube Goldberg Machine definition:
A Rube Goldberg machine is a complex contraption designed to complete a simple task. The machine uses a set of tasks that work in succession and trigger one event after another until the final event. In my project the theme is a gumball machine. We had 10 steps and 5 simple machines. we used a pully, lever, wedge, spiral and a ramp.
Velocity- Gumball gets spit out of the spiral into the final tube
V=4
Acceleration- Gumball goes down ramp (simple machine #4)
A=0.34
Force-Wedge (simple machine #1) is moved and releases dime
Force on dime by wedge
F=1.7N
Potential Energy-Coin hits domino
PE=0.875
Kinetic Energy-Coin hits domino
KE=0.224
Mechanical Advantage-Domino knocks ball into pulley
Pulley MA = 1
Simple Machines- Wedge, Pully, Spiral, Ramp, Lever

Reflection
2 skills i learned while working on the Rube Goldberg machine was how to work well with teamates and how to work around problems we had. For example this is our first project and we all dont know eachother well and we had to learn how to work well with eachother. An example of working around problems was when we had teamates off task and we couldnt do anything about it we had to work a little bit harder to get the job done.
2 things Id like to improve upon is gwtting my group to get motivated to work harder and stay on task. Another thing is to work harder myself and putr more effort into the work im doing.
