Later Life

"Most people do not know what starvation means"

After liberation, Sarah decided to settle in Mattapan MA during the 1960s. During the 1970s, Sarah moved to live in Randolph

Sarah's biggest struggle coming to the United States was not speaking English. Sarah grew up speaking Yiddish and German.

In the first few years, Sarah stayed home with her two kids while her husband was a butcher.

After years in a concentration camp, Sarah was never the same. Sarah and her brother never went out, nervous about another war. They kept cans of food on their shelves, so they would never go hungry and never go through again what they had already been through

Despite seeing records in Poland, Sarah and her brother never gave up looking for any remaining family.
