Gift Ideas for Everyone

Whether we’re ready for it or not, the holiday season is quickly approaching. Soon, slush will line the streets and Christmas music will be blasting from any and every available speaker on earth. But alongside the cold weather and Wham’s “Last Christmas,” the Christmas season also brings the stress of one important thing: gift-giving.
Whether it’s your Mom, dad, sister, or a random friend that you drew in Secret Santa, here are some generic gift ideas that never get old:
5. Generic Mugs/Water Bottles
Especially for a parent or grandparent, mugs and water bottles are a solid gift with endless different styles to choose from! Personally, when I feel stuck on a gift idea for my mom, I run to the mug section of amazon.com and look for the funniest mugs with mom or dad puns. If punny mugs don’t appeal to you, don’t stray away from the mug’s first cousin: the generic water bottle (because you can never have too many water bottles).

4. Gift Cards
You might roll your eyes at the idea of giving a gift card. You might think, “that's not meaningful enough” or “that's so boring.” But trust me! Gift cards can be super personalized because you can pick a store that fits the gift-receiver and allow them to treat themselves when they need a pick-me-up. Gift cards aren’t always basic—as long as they’re personalized to the recipient!

3. Personalized Merchandise/Jewelry
Amazon is chock full of all kinds of personalizable goods like notebooks, necklaces, blankets, and phone cases, each made to have initials or names plastered into them. These gifts are always specific to each person, without breaking the bank. My personal favorite is buying a necklace with their name or initials on it: cute and thoughtful!

2. “Burr” Basket
This next one on the gifting list is one of my personal favorites, as it really fits the winterscape and general vibes of the holiday season. A “burr” basket consists of different wintertime things such as fuzzy slippers, a new cozy blanket, and s’mores ingredients to last the year. These baskets are a great last minute option as they can be put together in just a quick shopping trip to the nearest Marshalls or TJ Maxx, and you always end up gifting something cute and practical for icy season.

1. Jellycat
Now, for the gift of the season: Jellycats. Jellycats seem to have taken the gifting world by storm as many people, especially during the holiday season. Some people have gone so far as to even adapt the regular secret santa concept into a Jellycat exchange, where friends give each other new fluffy companions. With all different shapes and creatures, I can personally confirm that Jellycats are a universally good gift, with guaranteed good quality and cuteness.
