Everyones Favorite Student: Officer Rocket

Everybody knows and loves NHS’ police dog, Officer Rocket. But just where did Rocket come from? The answer is GOFIDOG. GOFIDOG (Golden Opportunities For Independence) is an organization located in Walpole, Massachusetts, that raises dogs and trains them to be service dogs and police dogs. I have the joy of puppy-sitting for some of Rocket’s cousins and half siblings. For a two-hour shift on Saturday and Sunday, I stop by and have the privilege of looking after two adorable puppies. When I started volunteering at GOFIDOG there were seven puppies, but five of them have since been adopted and gone off to their forever homes. Before you know it, these puppies will grow up and we may even see one of them in the hallways of our school, just like our dear Officer Rocket.
