1877- My great-great-grandfather, Joseph Henry Michelle Forest was born in Montreal, Quebec.


1903- After a great life in Canada, he decided to move to America with no understanding of English or American traditions. He arrived by train and resided in Arlington, MA, a suburb outside of Boston where he decided to seek out job opportunities.


~1905- He started his life in America by working at Hardy's Bakery, in Arlington. There he met my great-great-grandmother, Rose Quinn. They later got married and bought a fourteen room house on Lewis Avenue in Arlington


1915- Joseph and Rose then started their own taxi business, capitalizing on the garage space in their new house. 


1917- He had his first child, Lillian, who ended up being one of nine children. Over the next 15 years after 1917, he had another eight other children.


1925- Joseph Forest was honored in the Arlington Day parade, and rode on a horse and buggy with throughout the whole parade.


1938- Joseph and Rose celebrated their 35th anniversary, which ended up being more of a town wide celebration. Their house was decorated and old friends flocked to their house to celebrate all they had done in Arlington.


1944- Joseph Forest died in 1944, at the age of 67, in his home on 12 Lewis Avenue. He was known as a great man who was well loved in Arlington.
