Gabriela De León was born and raised in a small town in Panama. She has two brothers, José (two years older) and Fernando (nine years younger). Her mother who raised them was a teacher. Gaby attended college in Panama and graduated in 2005, then decided to come to the United States to learn English. In September of 2006, at the age of 25, she came to Massachusetts to study at Framingham State University while working as an au pair. Unfortunately her mother passed away in 2008 which prompted her to stay permanently because it was better for her financially, and she needed to provide money for her younger brother. She has lived in Massachusetts ever since, and now lives in her own house in Newton.

Gaby came into my life as my au pair when I was almost 2 years old, and she has been a part of my life and a part of my family ever since.
