Alaa Tello left Syria with Muhammad Bakr Ghbeis in 2004 after getting married and went to Wisconsin, America. Tello accompanied Ghbeis who was invited to complete his residency after graduating medical school in Damascus to begin his medical practice.

Tello's immigration to America is a story of loyalty and love. She left Syria living all her life in it, to accompany Ghbeis in his medical practice journey, and start a family (she later had 4 children).

Tello was sad to leave Syria, the country she loved. Leaving her family, friends and childhood for a new, unfamiliar place.

What's interesting is that Hollywood films consistently portray America as a dream land, with flashy fancy things, events, and perspectives. This is great in making immigrants (such as Alaa Tello) come to America, and be excited for what it has to offer.
