After many years, Svetlana met Felix again at a friend's wedding in 2001. They soon got married in 2004.
Today, Svetlana lives in Needham, MA, with her husband Felix and their two daughters, Brianna (17) and Chloe (19). Svetlana stated, "I have no desire right now to go back and visit Ukraine. Whenever the war ends, it's not going to be the same as it was when I grew up there."
Svetlana is proud to have left her country to practice her religion, Judaism, and to enjoy freedom while providing opportunities for her family. From her experience of immigration, she learned the "importance of family," the "importance of knowing where you come from," and to "value the small things."
