Hi, my name is Cole Stevens, and I am a senior at Manheim Township. Throughout my years
at township, I have participated in and loved the sport of track. I started running track
competitively in 7th grade before the season was canceled due to COVID. For Township, I
have been able to aquire 22 Lancaster Lebanon League medals-including 3 league titles in
the 1600 and 800 this past spring-10 District 3 AAA medals and 5 PIAA State medals. I hope
opening up a meet with a younger audience sparks a love for the sport of track and provides
new opportunities. In late September 2022; my mom suffered from a stroke in the middle of
the cross-country season. She is the assistant coach for Manheim Township so it was already
a big loss for the team to lose a great coach, but it made life back home a lot harder too,
knowing she couldn't do much meant a lot more work for everyone else in the house, and
meant we had to have different meals, get different foods, and change a whole type of living.
Thanks to all her great friends and family friends we were able to get meal plans from
different families that helped us a lot. I started this meet to try to spread the severity of this
illness and want people to understand how it can change someone's life.
