PLTW Capstone allows students to pick a problem and develop a prototype that solves their problem.
Students work all year long connecting with industry professionals, companies, and other contacts to develop their prototypes. Take a look!
In December of 2025, these Capstone teams had their official Mid-Year Presentations.
This was a culmination of all the research our teams did during the beginning of the school year. Many teams included results from community outreach surveys, industry professionals, and more professional research regarding their topics.

As the 2025-2026 academic years comes to a close, our Capstone teams are reaching the end of their development and testing phase. Since their prototypes are entering the final phases of development, they're starting to prepare their
End-of-Year Presentations
This event marks the end of their Capstone journey as they put together an entire academic year's worth of research, communicating, development, and testing and present in front of a panel of judges.
This is an exciting moment for our capstone teams, and if you would like to support them, meet us in the
MTHS PAC from 8:00am - 12:00pm on June 15th, 2026.

Project Struct-Secure
Project Struct-Secure has chosen to tackle the problem of loud construction sites and the strain it puts on workers' hearing ability.
They built a rover that traverses any active construction site, creating "quiet zones" through active noise cancellation (just like your headphones), lowering the risk for construction workers to contract any hearing impairments.

Project Protheon
Project Protheon aims to build advanced, affordable prosthetics for those in need. Currently, high-end prosthetics that respond to muscle and nerve signals are insanely expensive, so this team hopes to bring high-end technology to a budget price range
Umbrella Pandemonium
A design that at first may seem like the epitome of "tried and tested" is actually what interested this team to challenge it.
Umbrella Pandemonium is aiming to make the perfect umbrellas that don't cut any corners.
Don't Go The Distance
The modern automotive industry has flooded the market with cars that come standard with safety sensors to make the roads a safer environment. While modern cars succeed with their technology, older car models become more of a hazard with their lack of safety sensors.
Team "Don't Go the Distance" aims to change that standard and bring modern safety to the older generation of cars.
The Asphalt Effect
Stepping outside on a hot day only to have your feet scorched by your hot driveway is not a pleasant feeling.
This team aims to prevent that from happening by finding a solution to the UHI effect, which is a phenomenon where black asphalt absorbs heat, making an already hot day even hotter.
The Rolling Remedies
Senior citizens are everywhere, no matter where you look. A lot of senior citizens suffer from walking difficulties.
That's where this team comes in with their solution: a new type of wheelchair that not only provides the support the elderly need, but takes the pressure off their muscles.
The Countertop Conundrum
Everyone loves a clean countertop, but not everyone loves constantly cleaning it to maintain its cleanliness.
This team aims to fix that problem by inventing a fully autonomous cleaning robot that spends time cleaning your kitchen so you don't have to.
