We contacted several professionals with botany experience. We were very grateful that Dr. Diazgranados decided to take his time and email us back. He is a Biodiversity Sciencist at the New York Botanical Garden. Dr. Mauricio Diazgranados suggests exploring automated irrigation systems with moisture sensors and integrating nutrient delivery to improve efficiency. He also recommends self-watering planters or hydroponic setups for simultaneous hydration and nutrient delivery. These innovations could address the challenges of plant maintenance more effectively.

We also reached out to Aero garden. We tried building off of their automatic sunlight and water systems they sell on their website. Their previous company was going out of business so we emailed them if we can use some of their product materials. Unfortunately, they did not provide the materials. However, we researched Aero Garden with our future prototype in mind so we developed a lot of ideas from them.
