CTE in North Carolina

Career Technical Education (CTE) provides students of all ages with the academic and technical skills, knowledge and training necessary to succeed in future careers and to become lifelong learners. In total, about 12.5 million high school and college students are enrolled in CTE across the nation.

Summer Camp 

This past summer, the Career and Technical Education department hosted three summer enrichment programs for students in grades 8 - 12. June 6 - 9, our academy of engineering students participated in a week of field trips including iFly, Ameritech, Stewart-Haas racing and the Town of Mooresville. June 13 - 16, students participated in hands-on activities in the following labs: foods, HVAC and carpentry, videography and health science. June 20 - 23, students had the opportunity to take a deeper dive into the following industries: business, film, STEM and automotive. Projects included videos of the weekly events, chicken coops with electronic doors, learning to take vital signs, creating operation games, building motor simulations, etc.
