Foundations of the Judicial Branch

Unit 5 focuses on the Judicial Branch. Unit 5 presents the basic concepts necessary to introduce students to the judicial branch, including the role of the courts, limits on court authority, court organization, the Supreme Court, and the appointment process. the unit also discusses the U.S. legal system, including the different types of U.S. law, the role of the police and the courts in the criminal justice system, and the correction system. We will be covering Chapters 11 and 12 through this unit.
