My name is Rachel Cerra and I'm one of the 8th Grade Science teachers at Kearney Junior High.  The start of the 2023-2024 school year marks my eighth year teaching in Kearney and my eighteenth year of teaching overall.  I have taught everything from 7th Grade Science to Advanced Biology, but find that my heart belongs with junior high students.  My teaching philosophy is that every student can learn and I strive to ensure that my students feel accepted and welcome in my classroom.  I believe every student should have a teacher that cares about them and gets to know and appreciate them beyond the surface.  I am an avid Kansas City Royals fan (though I was actually raised to cheer for the Detroit Tigers), love all things Harry Potter, and am a die hard Disney fan.  In my spare time, I love to travel (my bucket list includes visiting all seven continents), running, and cooking.  If you ever have any questions, please don't hesitate to let me know!
