Title : The Spiral Perspective: rolling up two-dimensional TMD nanosheets
Abstract :
Monolayer TMD materials are known to have interesting properties in terms of their optoelectronic responses. One can modulate these properties by changing the interactions involved in the system. Spiralling these nanosheets can be one of many facile methods to introduce complexity in these systems that can introduce an interlayer interaction and tensile strain in the system. Significant change will happen in the system owing to these effects, which will further translate to change in Raman, photoluminescence spectra and electronic characteristics. A shift in Raman, photoluminescence spectroscopy peaks and enhanced mobility are very prominent outcomes of this rolling process. In this seminar, I will be explaining these effects while differentiating multilayer TMD structures from TMD nanoscrolls with overviews of the application and prospectus of these systems.
