North America is experiencing a MegaDrought, with the American West seeing the worst drought conditions experienced in the last 1200 years.
In Europe, the summer of 2022 may be the worst drought in 500 years. Elsewhere, extremes in drought are being seen from China to Africa.

In California, 91.8% of the state is in an extreme drought, with inadequate water for agriculture, livestock, and urban needs.
California produces more than one third of US vegetables and two-thirds of US fruits and nuts. Drought in California affects food supplies across the United States and beyond.

Our Personal Experiences
We have seen our home gardens grow dry and our streams and creeks, which used to flow with delightful sound, grow dry and empty. It is harder to water our plants because we cannot tell how much to water. Plants die from dry soil, or get overwatered, which hurts the plants and wastes water.
