Graduating Seniors in the class of 2023 are now eligible to participate in the Work Ethic Certificate. Students who earn this distinction will be noted by the Governor of Indiana as having demonstrated 9 key employability skills during their senior year.
Subjective Criteria
3 school adult signatures on each criterion = 15 total signatures
Student is able to persevere through challenges and problem solve.
Student is accepting and demonstrates service to others, possesses a positive attitude, and communicates clearly.
Student is a self-starter and a critical thinker.
Student is reliable and demonstrates responsibility and teamwork.
Student is organized, punctual, and demonstrates self-management.
Objective Criteria
Data pulled from PowerSchool
GPA: Student has a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher and has met (or is on track to meet) all graduation requirements.
ATTENDANCE: 98% in your Senior Year (School field trips, College Visits, MED absences do not count).
DISCIPLINE: Student has 1 or fewer discipline referrals (and no major referrals) during the eligible school year.
SERVICE: Student completes a minimum of 6 hours of school or community service during the eligible school year, for which s/he has not received academic credit or compensation.
Skills #1 - 5 will be demonstrated by obtaining 3 GCHS staff signatures for each area of competency.
Skills #6 - 8 will be tracked in PowerSchool.
Skill #9 will require students to submit a signed Service Form to Mr. Bruck at Greenfield-Central High School prior to May 5, 2023.
