'Kairos'

“Kairos” is a Greek term that refers to the opportune and decisive moment that captures the perfect intersection of time and choice. 

As a theme for JC1 Orientation, Kairos emphasises that entering junior college is not just a transition, but a rare moment where the right time meets the right opportunity. 

'Seize Your Moment'

‘Seize’ implies and represents strong emphasis on individual agency and the power of choice. The choice to recognise the significance of the moments they encounter. To inspire students to take ownership: to participate fully, step outside their comfort zones, forge meaningful friendships, and embrace the fresh possibilities that lie ahead. ‘Moment’ suggests that the spirit of Kairos provides the opportunity for a transformative moment. A cohort thrives when individuals are willing to step forward and make their time count. This serves both as a personal empowerment mantra and a collective reminder that the journey ahead is shaped not by chance, but by the choices each student makes.
