My first rotation was in a 3rd/4th grade combo class. There were a lot of absences in the beginning of the school year due to the surge in COVID cases in mid January. My class perservered, nonetheless. The class consisted of 19 students, 15 who were English language learners. Of those 15 ELLs, 2 of them were SPED. They craved a lot of socialization which is why I tried to base my lessons off of discussions. I also tried to include conversation in order to gain their trust.
