ALL ABOUT ME

Hello. My name is Christine Jones and I am currently a graduate student in the Multiple Subject, M. Ed program at Dominican University of California. I am a 4th generation native of Marin County, and grew up in Point Reyes. My mother graduated from Tamalpais High School, and my father was a 1947 graduate of San Rafael High School. I went to public school in West Marin and graduated from Tomales High School. I have been married for 21 years and am the mother to 4 children. You could say I took the scenic route towards getting my credential. As a child, I always wanted to be a teacher, but somehow, did not pursue it when I went to college. I have degree in Sociology from the University of California at Berkeley. I have a Masters of Divinity degree in Christian Education and Homiletics from Morehouse School of Religion in Atlanta, GA. My husband and I are both ordained ministers. I have lived in Georgia, Alabama, and Florida where I first started teaching in 2007. Upon returning back to California in 2008, I was a substitute teacher in WCCUSD. I later worked at several private schools between Marin and the East Bay. In addition, I have started my own school and also served as a principal. I have been an educator for a total of 13 years and now I am a 3rd grade teacher at Bayside Martin Luther King Jr. Academy in Marin City. I am delighted to be in the process of getting my teaching credential which has been a personal goal of mine. As they say, "It's better late, than never. " and "Timing is Everything". My rainbow in the cloud of Covid-19 is that I get to work on my credential and take classes from the comfort of my home.
