My Path to Teaching

My path to teaching started at my children's co-operative preschool in San Francisco. As a parent I learned through observation and asking questions. This experience helped shape my parenting and teaching style. The preschool also offered classes in emotional understanding through Hand In Hand Parenting, which I still reference today. When my oldest was in Kindergarten we moved our family to Fairfax. After our move, I continued to volunteer in my three children's classrooms throughout their elementary years, learning and growing with them.

I was fortunate to meet my current mentor teacher 8 years ago as a volunteer in my son's math class.  Each year she encouraged me to return even after my children graduated. I eventually became her assistant teacher and was later hired to teach various math classes from 2nd to 5th grade.

I'm inspired by all the teachers and administrators I've met and worked with over the past 13 years. As a professional developing my career I set an intention each day to inspire students to be curious, ask question, and persevere.

In the fall of 2023, I look forward to being part of a supportive educational community teaching multiple subjects.
