Cadet Captain (C/CPT) Joel Porten is the current Primary S-4 for the Crusader Battalion Corps of Cadets. Joel is a Junior at Delsea Regional High School and a LET 3. His past positions include Platoon Sergeant. Cadet Porten is involved in our successful action-packed Air Rifle Team, being one of our top firers. He was also involved in the Drill Team as the LET 1 Commander, as well as our great Service Learning Project. He has also participated in the Saber Guard for our Military Ball, in previous years. Joel’s brother, Jacob, was the Battalion S-4 last year, so he’s carrying on the Porten legacy.

Outside of JROTC, Joel spends an extensive amount of time at the tabletop club, which is a club for board games, here at Delsea. He also enjoys playing video games, working out, spending time outdoors, spending time with his family, and teasing his brother. After high school, Joel plans to get into the field of Information Technology (IT).
