SFC Leon Myers entered active duty service on November 20th, 2000, as an 11B Infantryman and attended One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, GA. He has held every position from Rifleman to Platoon Sergeant and held the position of First Sergeant at Fort Jackson, SC 1st BN 13 Infantry Basic Combat Training (BCT)
SFC Myers’ previous assignments include C.CO 2nd BN 14th Infantry 10th Mountain Division; B.CO 1st BN, 32nd Infantry 10th Mountain Division; 1st Squadron (ABN), 91st Cavalry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade; Drill Sergeant 1-13 Infantry, and Military Instructor, Temple University
SFC Myers’ awards and decorations include the Combat Infantryman Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge Parachutist Badge, Meritorious Service Medal w/ 3 OLC, Army Commendation Medal w/ Valor and 1 Silver OLC, Army Achievement Medal w/ 3 OLC, Afghanistan Campaign Medal w/ 2 campaign stars, Iraq Campaign Medal w/ 4 campaign stars, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Kosovo Campaign Medal, Army Volunteer Service Medal, NATO Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon w/ numeral 3, and Overseas Service Ribbon w/ numeral 4.
SFC Myers’ deployments include two to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, one to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, and one deployment to Kosovo in support of Task Force Falcon for a peacekeeping mission in the region.
SFC Myers holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Military Studies from Liberty University and is currently in his Graduate program in Education with an emphasis on Administration and Supervision.
