Stagecraft and Design I is offered to freshmen through seniors. Students will learn and experience the many roles of technical theatre involved in the production process. They will get hands-on experience using tools to assist with building the sets for our main stage productions. Students will work on a variety of projects from reading, analyzing and researching the play as a designer, creating make-up designs, costume designs, props, set designs, learning about stage management/directing, and evaluating design based on the element of composition and principles of design. For many design projects, students will work in groups as well as individually with their final project being a presentation of their groups research and analysis to their final designs for their chosen script.
