Intro to Art

Creative Lines

This piece of artwork was inspired by the waves that I saw at the top of the page. After I saw the waves I just kept on seeing things that live in the sea. I saw fish and jellyfish, crabs and an eal. Once I saw these things I knew I just had to draw the ocean. But I had one problem I didn't know what to do with the straight curvy line at the top of the page so one of my friends told me that I should draw a boat so that is what I did, I drew a boat. Then I thought what if they didn't know it's a boat so than another one of my friend said to add an a sot that they would know it was a boat so that was exactly what I did.

Hand Drawing

This piece of artwork was fun to make. It was hard to do and took mea long time. Eben though it took me a long time, looking back I am glade that I spent as much time as I did on it. I am very proud of the picture that I drew because I did not know that I could draw a picture that looked so good. During part of the prosses thought I would have never guessed it would turn out the way it did. I choose the hand tool that I did because I thought that it would be fun to do. It was not the same as any of the other tools, I also liked the way that may hand looked holding the tool. I am over all so proud of how good I did on this piece of art.

Landscape Painting

This painting was inspired by the trip that my family took to Holland. While we were in Holland we went to a place called the Kinderdijk it is known for how many windmills it has in one area.  I decided to paint this picture because I liked the way that the windmill looked in the photo. It also has a story behind it so I thought it was worth painting. While I was painting I realized that things in the picture are harder to paint than I thought. I didn't realize how hard it would be to paint the clouds and the reeds, but I did it and I think it looks good. I am proud of this painting.

Clay Jar

The project of the clay jars was a fun one. I was able to enjoy making different shapes with the clay. When I started this project I thought I Knew what I wanted to do. Once I started to make it though I realized  I did not like the dining that I started with. This caused me to destroy it and I just started to play with the clay when an idea hit me, what if I make a jar that looks like a plant holder. So I started to make it. I loved it. It all just started to come out of me and painting it came to me with such ease. I am so happy with how this project turned out. I could not have imagined it to turn out any better.

Clay Bowl

This clay bowl is one of a kind, it's not like the rest. The design came from a place I like to call my thinker but people call it a brain. It was inspired by other bowls that I had seen. As I was making this masterpiece I had to remember that what I was seeing was not what it looked on the inside. Each coil I made with care, hoping for the best for this bowl of mine. When I finished this masterpiece and saw the design I was not too fond of it, so I made some changes. Now when I look at this bowl I am reminded of all the hard work I put into it and how special it really is. I now present to you this masterpiece of a bowl.

Clay Whistle

My clay whistle is not like anyone else's.  When I started to make it I had no idea what I was going to make it into or how to even get it to whistle. The first time I made the whistle I got sound to come out of it, but I kept playing with it and I played with it so much that it stopped whistling. After that, I could not get it to whistle again, so I went to the only expert that I knew would get it to whistle Reese, and she worked her magic and got it to whistle. When I started adding my first design of making it look like a cup I absolutely loathed to design, so I started to make little balls and cover the whole thing with those. I am delighted with the way it turned out.

Oil Pastel Insect

Oil Pastel Insects was a fun project for me. I had no idea what I was doing but it was just fun because I felt like I was using crayons again. I started with the bee but I got bored and couldn't figure out how to make the bee look fury so I moved on to the flower.  The hardest part for me was the background I didn't know how to make it look good and when I was doing it I took off most of the oil pastel. I finally asked for help and I figured out how to make the background look good. These are just some things that make my oil pastel look like it does. Over all, I enjoyed this project and would do it again.

Underwater Watercolor

When I was doing my underwater watercolor I struggled with many things. I don't think that what I was doing was even watercolor. I think that I didn't use enough water in the paint and that I could have done a few more layers, but I was so ready to be done with it that I didn't give it enough layers. I think that if I did this again I would try to use more water and also do a few more layers. I would also make my shadows a bit darker. These are just some things that I learned while I did the underwater watercolor. Over all I did enjoy this project a nd working on it.

Bird Prints

This project was not my favorite. I didn't like my prints. I wish that during this project I would ahve been more adventorus and tried a bunch of different things. I Think that if I would have tried a bunch of different things I would have liked my duck more. I did enjoy the way that as a table we were able to share the incs that we used and see how each and every bird turnd out. Over all this was not my favorit project but I did enjoy doing it a little.

Custom Box

This project was a good way to end the year. At first, I didn't know if I was going to like the making of the box, but as time went on I started to like the project more and more. It didn't take me long to do the project. I messed up a few times. I missed up on the cutting of the walls, I cut them too short but it turned out ok. I also messed up the name the first time I did it. I poced a hole straight through, but the second time I was more careful. Overa I enjoyed this project.
