Intro to Studio Art

The lines on the paper helped me think outside the box. You can't create a drawing from nothing. You need an idea. The lines forced me to think of something that would fit together and make sense. It required creativity because I had to pay attention to shapes.

I chose a staple gun to draw because I wanted a challenge. It had many reflections and a lot of information. I only used the B pencils because I didn't want the texture to change throughout my drawing. The reflections were difficult because of the drastic differences in the value near the corner of the metal. I was mostly pleased with the end result but I still hope to improve in my technique.

This art project has taught me a lot about painting. I have never painted with acrylics before this project. It helped me learn not to use flat colors and to put multiple layers.

I learned the basics of using coils to create a bowl out of clay

This project taught me how to form things with clay and glaze.

I learned the principles of making a clay whistle.

I learned the basics of watercolor. It is a lot harder than acrylics in my opinion.

In this project I brushed up on my photo editing skills
